Individual Therapy

Reaching out and beginning the process of therapy can, for many, be a daunting, intimidating, and even unwanted task.  I recognize your courage and desire for change.  I am deeply committed to navigating this process with you in a way that feels in alignment with your needs and goals, honors your boundaries, and helps to support your specific process of growth and healing.  Through individual therapy, I provide you with the opportunity to explore, in a safe and confidential relationship, the aspects of your life that you are feeling a desire to evolve, heal, or change at this time.  Individual therapy can support you to create a new sense of possibility and growth through connecting to a greater sense of agency, clarity, resilience, and empowerment throughout all areas of your life.  I work with adolescents to older adults and specialize in trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship and intimacy/sexuality concerns, specific challenges related to identity, self-esteem/self-image, pre/perinatal mental health, life transitions, as well as grief and loss.

Couple Therapy

Navigating intimate relationships can be simultaneously one of the most stressful and rewarding experiences in life.  My approach to couples therapy is deeply rooted in attachment theory, and the importance of mutuality.  Disrupting unhealthy and destructive relationship patterns takes a deep commitment and a lot of vulnerability from all involved.  Couple work with me is both direct and relational.  Embodiment and body awareness are key components of being in healthy relationships and many sessions will include focusing on body awareness as a tool for strengthening communication and connection.  I work with all couples and in particular specialize working with couples in transition such as getting married, planning, having, and parenting children, the stress of relocation, as well as exploring all sides of the delicate decision to uncouple and intimacy concerns.  I am also currently pursuing additional training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples.

Family Therapy

For many of us, family is both the source of our greatest joy and also our greatest frustrations and challenges.  Family Therapy is focused on supporting families to move away from patterns of behaving and relating that are dysfunctional, unsustainable, and potentially harmful.  I view families as system and recognize that if one part of the system is hurt or struggling that impacts the health of the whole.  Family therapy works to engage every member of the system to begin creating a space where healing and repair can occur.  Through this new patterns of communication and relating can be formed and appropriate boundaries and expectations identified.  Family therapy involves a lot of commitment and work, especially from the parents as the leaders in the system, but it can transform the experience of everyone involved.

Group Therapy

There is an undeniable alchemy that can happen when we are immersed in the experience of group therapy.  Group therapy is an opportunity to lean into a therapeutic process with a collection of individuals with shared goals, experiences, and desires to cultivate change and healing.  I offer groups based on need and availability covering a range of topics including developing strategies for self care and dealing with difficult emotions, recovering from experiences of sexual violence, developing creativity and exploring creative expression, engaging in mindful embodiment and movement practices, exploring experiences related to privilege and marginalization, as well as exploring specific topics related to sex, sexuality and sexual identity.  Groups are offered on an as needed basis, please reach out for more details.

Equine Assisted Therapy
(currently unavailable)

As highly sensitive prey animals, horses can be incredibly powerful collaborators in the healing process.  Equine assisted therapy is conducted out of the office in a natural setting and can be used as an adjunct to traditional office therapy or as the primary therapeutic approach to treat a number of different concerns and diagnosis.  Equine assisted therapy is particularly gaining attention as a treatment for trauma, as well as attachment and relationship issues.  Equine assisted therapy gives you the opportunity to explore your healing process in relationship to a horse that will give you moment to moment feedback and opportunities to explore connection. This unique relationship can greatly enhance and deepen therapy while fostering new opportunities for learning and growth.  Equine assisted therapy can be done with individuals, couples, families, or groups.
